The duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfried Ndidi both started for Leicester City as they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at the King Power Stadium on Saturday in the Premier League.
An early goal in the second half from Gabriel Martinelli was enough for the Gunners to take all three points as the Foxes lacked the bite in the absence of star player, James Maddison who was left out through illness.
Wilfried Ndidi was handed his first start in six games, he returned to the middle of the pack for the Foxes, while Iheanacho led the attack for Leicester City.
Arsenal were the dominant of the two and thought they had taken the lead earlier through Leandro Trossard, but VAR discovered a foul by Ben White in the build up to the goal, however they weren’t to be denied the second time of asking, and deservedly took the lead through Martinelli.
Iheanacho was effectively marked out by Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães, he was substituted for Jamie Vardy in the 69th minute while Ndidi, who faired better in terms of performance, was substituted in the 77th minute.
It’s back to back defeat for the Foxes and are now 14th on the log, hovering just 3 points above the relegation zone.
