Joe Aribo came on in the 83rd minute for Southampton in their Championship league match against Middlesbrough on Saturday at the Riverside.

Aribo was handed a cameo with the game lost, his Southampton side trailed 2-1 to Michael Carrick’s team, who were in the relegation zone.

The defeat was also Southampton’s fourth on the bounce, as Russell Martin struggles to steady the sinking Saints’ ship.

So far this season, they’ve conceded 19 goals, the worst defensive record in the division and their goals differential is only better than Boro’s in the league.
