Remo Stars Centre back, Ifeanyi Anaemena has suggested that securing a CAF Champions League spot next season is compensation for missing out on the Nigeria Premier League title.

Anaemena featured in every game for Remo Stars in the NPL Super 6, including Sunday’s 1-0 victory against Bendel Insurance; which secured them the prestigious club competition ticket.

“The game was good and we are happy,” the CB remarked, speaking on the win. “Going into the continent, I expect our management to strengthen the team.”

“I came in from Saudi Arabia to join the team ( Remo Stars) if I have to stay with them, I think we will go far.”

The experienced defender saw his old team, Enyimba win the league at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, on Sunday.

“I wanted more than the continental ticket because I won it with Enyimba in 2019, I was expecting to win the league but unfortunately it didn’t happen, but we got a continental ticket,” he said.
