Amoo ruled out for Rest of the Season


FC Copenhagen have confirmed that midfielder, Akinkunmi Amoo will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

In a club statement, Amoo suffered the injury during training ahead of last weekend’s Superliga match against Silkeborg.

The Club statement read in part:

“Akinkunmi Amoo unfortunately suffered a serious knee injury in Saturday’s training match against Silkeborg, and after scans and further examinations he he has been ruled out for the rest of the season.”

“Amoo will now have an operation, will rest, and then undergo a long rehabilitation before he can train with the team and play matches again. Altogether, that process will last nine to 10 months,” says FCK chief physician Morten Boesen.

Meanwhile, FC Copenhagen will be back in action, Tuesday, as they get their UEFA Champions League campaign under way.

The Danish side play away at the Signal Iduna Park against Dortmund in their first Group G match.
