Aminu Umar: Rizespor won’t give up

Date:

Striker Aminu Umar has reflected that Rizespor will ‘never give up’ despite their poor form so far in the 2018/19 Turkish Super Lig season.

Basement team, Rizespor showed the fighting spirit in them as they fought from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Galatasaray at the Ali Sami Yen Spor Kompleksi Turk Telekom Stadyumu.

Aminu Umar sparked the comeback when he reduced the deficit in the 67th minute before Samu equalised with 10 minutes left on the clock.

“We really fought a good battle, I think we did enough to win tonight.”

“We were down to two goals and really did well in the last 25 minutes.”

Rizespor sit 18th in the Turkish top flight.

“From the very first match of the season we knew this season would be difficult, which it’s turning out to be.

“Looking at the team now it’s clear where we are at this point in the League competition.

“We were aware of the difficulty from the start, so there have been no surprises.

“We’ll never give up, and will always continue to fight through these difficult times.

“Even though we deserve to win against Gala, we need to dust ourselves off and prepare for the next battle.”

Rizespor host Alanyaspor next Saturday.
