Beerschot VA comfortably won their Challenger Pro League Promotion playoff game against Anderlecht U23 on Friday, but their chances of moving up in the division are slim and next to none.

Playing away from home at the Lotto Park, Beerschot picked up three points in a 2-0 victory, but they’re a distant third in the standings behind RWDM and Beveren – the top two are separated by just a single point.

A first-half brace from Liberian star, Ayouba Andre Kosiah (12′, 41′) settled the contest early.

Much later in the game, Ibrahim Alhassan came on in a cameo appearance for the visitors – his 16th app.

He got minutes off the bench after five matches – wasn’t in the matchday squad in the last four games and was an unused substitute in another.

The Midfielder joined Beerschot VA this season from Nacional as a free Agent. He was introduced in the 85th minute, with the game well in the bag.

Meanwhile, next up for Beerschot is a home game against Lierse K on May 13.
