Everton’s interim manager, Duncan Ferguson has hailed Alex Iwobi’s “incredible” display in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

Ferguson showed faith in Iwobi for his second game in charge of the Toffees and the Nigeria international repaid his gaffer’s trust by putting on a good showing.

Everton played out a 1-1 draw with United after Victor Lindelof’s 36th minute own goal was cancelled out by Mason Greenwood’s leveller in the 77th minute.

Iwobi who completed 26 passes and had 39 touches on the day, could have grabbed the winner in the closing stages of the encounter if it were not for a David De Gea’s decent save.

The Everton boss was however impressed with the Super Eagles playmaker’s performance and has hailed his all-round display.

“I thought he was tremendous, they all were,” Ferguson said in his post-match interview.

“Alex Iwobi was incredible, the distances he was covering, it was an all-round tremendous effort.

Iwobi will hope to maintain his form when Everton host Leicester City in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup game at Goodison Park.
