Akwa United forward Ndifreke Effiong has expressed excitement at scoring his first professional hat-trick in Sunday’s 4-0 bashing of Adamawa United.

Effiong inspired his side to their first league win of the season and eased the pressure on Head Coach John Obuh.

In a chat with www.brila.net, the Midfielder expressed how happy he was to have found the back of the net three times for the first time in his career.

“It’s a thing of joy for me to have scored the first hat-trick of my career. I’m really excited because the three goals actually helped my team to achieve what we wanted which is the three points we got at the end of the match.

“I have this belief that this season will be a special one for me and Akwa United. I have been scoring goals, I have scored brace in many matches but this is my first time of scoring a hat-trick, and it gives me more reasons to believe more in my abilities,” he concluded.
