Akwa United head Coach, Deji Ayeni has asserted that his team’s chances of qualifying for the NPFL Super 6 playoff are 50/50.

To qualify for the playoffs, Akwa United must defeat Gombe United in their last league game at Pantami Stadium, and hope that the results at other centres go in their favour.

The favourites to climb through the log are Enyimba and Remo Stars, who are in front of them on the group B table.

Despite the tenuous circumstances, Ayeni believes his team will give it everything they had to win.

“The task before us is to ensure we approach our match with Gombe United as a cup final and with a winning mentality,” he told the club’s media.

“We know that it won’t be an easy game for both teams but we are fully prepared to give it our best shot.

“I can say that we have a 50-50 chance and we are very much hopeful of picking one of the playoff tickets.”
