As a precaution following his injury in last weekend’s Bundesliga game against Union Berlin, Kevin Akpoguma was named on Hoffenheim’s bench when they hosted Stuttgart on Monday night in the league.
However, Akpoguma was called off the bench Twenty-Eight minutes in after an injury to teammate Robert Skov, who was deployed as a RWB.
The 27 year-old picked up a caution in the four-goal thriller at the PreZero Arena, but aside that Yellow card, he was a big influence in his side picking a point against the 10-man Stuttgart side.
Although they had taken the lead in the 11th minute through Andrej Kramaric, Hoffenheim were pegged back before the break and in additional time by Serhou Guirassy’s (45+4′) goal.
In the second half, Stuttgart took the lead in the 77th minute through Wataru Endo assisted by Naouirou Ahamada, but the visitors were reduced to 10 men a minute later after Ahamada was shown a second yellow.
Kramaric then got his brace, another stoppage time goal in the game (90+3′).
Meanwhile, Akpoguma was rated 6.6 for his Sixty-three minutes in the match up.
The Nigerian managed 2 shots, 1 dribble, 1 Tackle, 2 clearances, 3 blocks and 2 aerial duels won. He had 62 touches and 51 passes, not once was he dispossessed.
