Ajibade Gets Highest Marks For Goal Against Haiti

Nigeria’s youth female national team, Falconets’ captain, Raheedat Ajibade has found rave reviews trailing her, following what her improved performance in Thursday’s 1-0 win against Haiti.

The FC Robo of Lagos striker stepped up her efforts in Nigeria’s second match at the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, and was duly rewarded as player of the game, with the only goal of the show also coming from her.

In contrast with her lethargic display in the opening loss against Germany, by the same scoreline, Ajibade stepped up her efforts on Thursday, and is again being rated as the lass to show the way into the knock out stage for the 2010 and 2014 runners-up.

Ajibade got eight marks out of ten, after netting a penalty for the solitary goal for the Falcponets, with her rating equally only by once again enterprising goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie.

Full ratings for the Falconets read as follow – Chiamaka Nnadozie: Another great day in office. For the second match in a row she was the best Falconets player on the field. She was outstanding and brave in goal. 8/10

Opeyemi Sunday: The full back was sturdy in defence. 6/10

Joy Duru: Decent game by the youngster. 7/10

Mary Ologbosere: She had a busy day contending with the physical Haitians. 6.5/10

Chidinma Okeke: The Madam Versatility held her own at the heart of the defence. 7/10

Christy Ucheibe: Steely show by the starlet. 7/10

Peace Efih: Another great game for the Edo Queens central midfielder who showed quality. 7.5/10

Bashirat Amoo: Did not make a meaningful impact. She was silent in the match. 5/10

Anam Imo: Imo did well to earn her team the spot kick. She was lively when the ball was at her feet.7.5/10

Rasheedat Ajibade: An improved performance from the young forward. She netted the only goal from the spot. 8/10

Monday Gift: The left footed dazzler was not at her best. She was lucky go escape being sent off. 5/10

The substitutes: Taibat Odueke: Odueke defended well when she came on. 5/10; Aishat Bello: The dashing winger came and troubled the Haitians. She almost scored a candidate for goal of the tournament in injury time. 6/10; Famuditi Oluwakemi: Didn’t last long enough to be rated.
