Super Eagles midfielder Semi Ajayi’s Rotherham United suffered a setback in their battle to escape the drop following a 3-1 home loss to Birmingham City in English Championship encounter on Monday.
Rotherham started the game with a lot of intensity and they were rewarded for their hard work in the 26th when Matty Brooks opened scoring for them in front of their home crowd.
However, Birmingham City responded in the second 45 minutes and scored on three occasions to put the game beyond the Millers .
Congolese midfielder Jacques Ilonda Maghoma equalised for the visitors in the 56th minutes, before Spaniard José Ignacio Peleteiro Ramallo added the second.
Rotherham were searching for a precious equaliser but conceded the third in added time when substitute Kerim Mrabti scored the third .
Ajayi who received a yellow card in the fifth minute has scored seven goals in 45 appearances for the Millers.
