Oluwasemilogo Ajayi returned to the matchday squad for West Brom in Tuesday’s Championship fixture against Sheffield Wednesday, at the Hawthorns.

Ajayi missed the Baggies’ weekend match where they absolutely drubbed Preston North End 4-0 away from home.

The CB had picked up a knock in the home game against Millwall and missed a couple of training sessions aftereards.

He was not passed fit for last weekend’s game, as manager Carlos Corberán had hoped for, and was a late decision to be left out of the squad.

But, the 29 year-old returned however he was left on the bench for the duration of the game as the Baggies picked up a second consecutive league win.

It was John Swift’s early strike that separated the sides and proved enough to earn the promotion chasing West Brom a valuable win.

Tuesday’s victory now extends their unbeaten streak to five games (2W 3D).

Next up for Corberán and his men is a tricky trip to St. Andrew’s where they’ll battle Birmingham on Friday.
