Ajax Amsterdam has signed Chuba Akpom from Middlesbrough FC for €12.3 million, with potential add-ons.

Akpom penned a five-year contract with the former Eredivisie Champions following a remarkable 2022-2023 season with Middlesbrough.

He was a man on fire last season with 28 goals in 38 matches, earning him the Championship’s Golden Boot award and he was also named the Championship Player of the Year.

The Forward will wear the number 10 jersey for Ajax in the upcoming season.

“I’m happy to sign, definitely. Ajax is a top club with lots of history. It didn’t take long for me to decide. A special club, and I’m happy to be here,” Akpom said in his first interview as an Ajax player.

“It was a pretty fast deal. There were some other clubs as well, but as soon as Ajax came, I had my mind sorted.

“I can’t wait to show what I can do.”
