Aiteo Cup: Tornadoes loving their Underdog tag, ready to stun Pillars

Niger Tornadoes will be out to cause an upset in the Aiteo Cup final when they face Pillars this weekend according to goalkeeper Mustapha Aliko.

Tornadoes finished as runners up in the competition two years ago where they lost on penalties to Akwa united, but Aliko, who is also captain of the now relegated NPFL side, syas they want to end the season on a high.

Aliko told that they are aware that Kano pillars are favourites but they’re not deterred by their underdog tag.

“The FA cup people tag us as underdog, but by the special grace of God, we are going to surprise many people.

“We have young boys who are ready to make a name for themselves. So I strongly believe the boys will do well.

“The smaller team do pull surprises at times, so I know in the final people tagged us the underdogs but we are going to surprise many.”
