After a scoreless draw against Lobi Stars in the ongoing Super 6 in Lagos on Saturday, Bendel Insurance inscribed their names in the record books of the Nigerian Premier League.

After competing with Benue-based club Lobi Stars in the final match of week one, Insurance, who had an 18-game unbeaten streak in the league, extended it to 19 games.

Both teams had enough opportunities to win the game, but their sub par finishing cost them.

In the wake of the deadlock at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Insurance established a new record for the longest unbeaten streak in the Nigerian top division, matching and exceeding, Akwa United’s 18-game unbeaten streak from their title-winning season in 2021.

The 2023 Nigerian Federation Cup finalists have now gone 24 games without losing since being promoted back to the Premier league after a four-year sabbatical.
