Nigerian champions, Enyimba have been eliminated from the African Football League after a 3-0 defeat to Wydad Athletic Club.

Enyimba were ousted from the competition 4-0 on aggregate, but the team had been aiming to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg.

Ayoub El Amloud opened the scoring for Wydad just four minutes into the match, with an assist from Yahya Jabrane.

The home team extended their lead with a goal from Jamal Harkass six minutes before halftime.

Yahya Attiyat-Allah netted the third goal for Wydad in the 44th minute.

The Nigerian champions came out in the second half with more determination in hopes they could possible force a comeback with a better showing that they did in the first half.

However it was the Moroccans who had the better control of the game all-round and dictated the pace until the blast of the final whistle by the centre referee.

Wydad will now advance to the semi-finals to face Esperance of Tunisia.
