Enyimba goalkeeper Theophikus Afelokhai has stated that he earnestly desire to move abroad so as to better his chances of been considered good for Nigeria after a number of national team calls have failed to yield a chance.
Afelokhai speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said he earnestly wants more than mere national team invitation which really has been worrisome and cast doubts whether such openings for him will come as an home based goalkeeper after having done everything to impress in the Nigeria topflight league with big clubs like Enyimba and Kano Pillars.
“I just pray to God to give me a better club out of this country for me to move on my career because they believe more in the professionals outside there. And it’s not by only call up, when you call me, give me the chance to prove myself. I want to play, I want to contribute to my country. I thank the national team coaches for the few times they have called me, but I desire the chance to play beyond the call ups.”
