Afeez Aremu and Oladapo Afolayan were both in action for St. Pauli as they defeated Arminia Bielefeld 2-1 to aid the team’s quest for promotion to the German Bundesliga thanks to goals from Marcel Hartel and Lukas Daschner.

Afolayan started the game on the right side of the front three and was a handful for the opposition’s defense.

The 25 year-old completed two dribbles, attempted one shot, and won two fouls. Defensively he made three clearances.

He was replaced by Aremu Afeez in the 80th minute.

With just over 10 minutes to go, Aremu attempted a shot but failed to connect with a cross, as he struggled to impose himself on the game.

The result still leaves St.Pauli with work on their hands if they are to gain promotion to the Bundesliga.

St. Pauli are 10 points from automatic qualification, and 6 points from the playoff spot with four games left to play.
