AFCON: Senegal and Tunisia Fight for Final Spot

Africa’s highest ranked team Senegal will battle Tunisia for a place in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations final at the June 30 Stadium in Cairo, tonight.

A thrilling contest awaits spectators in the Egyptian capital with Senegal’s Teranga Lions counting on Liverpool forward and Champions League winner Sadio Mane.

 

The North African’s on the other hand will want to see the trio of Ferjani Sassi, Youssef Msakni and Naim Sliti replicate their form against Madagascar in their 3-0 Quarter-final win.

 

While the Senegalese have being underachievers in the African showpiece, Tunisia’s only AFCON victory came on home soil 15 years ago, with a 1-0 quarterfinal win over Senegal paving the way for victories over Nigeria and ultimately Morocco in the final in Rades.

 

Tonight’s winner takes all encounter will kick off at 5pm Nigerian time.
