Odion Ighalo scored the only goal as Nigeria beat Tunisia in the third place game at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Ighalo extended his goals tally as the the tournament’s top scorer with five goals.
He tapped in after goalkeeper Moez Ben Cherifia deflected the ball off his own defender Yassine Meriah.
The forward however did not finish the game as he limped off injured just before half time.
Ighalo also equalled Rashidi Yekini’s total number of goals scored by any Nigerian in a single AFCON tournament.
Tunisia rarely threatened Nigeria’s defence with Kenneth Omeruo and William Troost-Ekong, who was voted man of the match, coming alive to their responsibilities.
Tunisia, champions in 2004; needed a finger-tip save from Cherifia to deny Samuel Chukwueze in the second half and the keeper was called on again injury time to acrobatically save Samuel Kalu’s free-kick.
Three-time winners, Nigeria have now finished third eight times.
