Algeria midfielder Ismail Bennacer was named the best player of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament after a stellar performance , helping the Desert Foxes to a second ever AFCON title.
The Italy based Midfielder provided three assists upfront, including one in the final from which Baghdad Bounedjah scored the winner against Senegal.
He featured in all seven games for Algeria in the tournament and was only substituted once in the group stage owing to injury.
Algeria’s Rais M’Bolhi was also named the tournament’s best keeper, thanks to some superb displays between the sticks.
M’Bolhi conceded just two goals all through the competition, including a penalty by eventual top scorer, Nigeria’s Odion Ighalo.
