Former Super Eagles midfielder Mutiu Adepoju has urged the NFF and Super Eagles Head Coach, Gernot Rohr to put in proper preparation for the team’s 2021 AFCON qualifying campaign.
Nigeria will kick off its bid to reach the 33rd edition of the competition with a home game against Benin Republic in November.
Adepoju told footballlive.ng that the Coach needs to put the players in the right mental shape to approach the game with the importance it deserves.
Nigeria returned to the competition at the last edition in Egypt after missing two previous competitions – back to back – the former Eagles star cautioned against complacency.
“Another qualifier (AFCON) is coming, the NFF knows what the next step should be; how to bring the team together, how to put them together,” Adepoju stated.
“The coach should know what to do too; how to bring them together and then psyche them up and have a very good team.”
