Ademola Lookman has stressed the importance of Atalanta’s victory against Cagliari, which moved them to 6th place in Serie A, just one point ahead of Napoli.

Lookman, 26, had a less impressive end to the 2022-23 season, but has shown promise with two goals in his last three appearances for Atalanta this term.

Speaking to DAZN after the Cagliari match, the Winger acknowledged the significance of their win, especially as it placed them just one point away from the top four.

“I am happy for the victory; it was very important, as well as for the goal I scored,” Lookman stated, as quoted by Sports Face.

Atalanta play Verona in their next game and the Nigerian will look to maintain his goalscoring form which has seen him score in back to back games for Atalanta.
