Ademola Lookman was in action for the entirety of the contest but couldn’t do anything to help Atalanta avoid defeat at home to Lecce.

Lecce were deserved victors, beating Atalanta 2-1 at the Gewiss Stadium.

Gambian star Assan Ceesay set the tone for things to come, his powerful low drive from distance beat the goalkeeper to put Lecce ahead inside the opening four minutes.

Lookman thought he had drawn his side level but his effort was ruled out for offside, but Lecce got the next goal courtesy of Alexis Blin’s powerful header in the 74th minute.

Rasmus Hojlund however found the back of the net for Atalanta to halve the deficit in the 87th minute.

But it proved to be a mere consolation as Atalanta despite their best efforts later on could not find the second goal to grab a point.

Ademola Lookman’s scoring drought has now coincide with Atalanta’s poor run, the Nigerian has failed to find the back of the net in four games, while Atalanta have lost three games and won one.
