Nigerian striker, Akor Adams, has acknowledged the valuable guidance and support he has received from John Utaka since joining Montpellier.

Adams joined Montpellier from Lillestrom during the summer, and Utaka, who played a key role in Montpellier winning the Ligue 1 title in 2012, was present during the young forward’s unveiling.

Utaka now works as a youth coach at Montpellier, and has been instrumental in helping the 23-year-old striker settle into the club.

“He’s a great guy. For me, he’s a legend, he’s a very top man, he has helped me a lot,” Adams said per PV Sport.

“Many times after a game, he gives me comments on my performance because he was also a striker and he has a lot of experience. For me, to have him in the club is a positive.”

Scoring seven times out of 12 Ligue Un games for the club so far this season, Akor Adams has been nothing short of a revelation for the club since he made the move to France.
