Rangers head Coach, Abdu Maikaba has requested that his contract be terminated immediately by the club’s management following a humiliating loss to Akwa United.

After earning just one point from their first three games in the NPFL, Rangers are still firmly entrenched bottom of Group B.

During halftime, club supporters attempted to assault Maikaba, but security personnel quickly stepped in to stop them.

“We have worked so hard, but unfortunately things are not going the expected way. And l would like, if it is going to be possible to meet the representatives of the government of Enugu State to terminate my contract,” Maikaba told reporters.

“They see me as the problem of the team, I really love this team, they have treated me so well but if I am the problem, l would like to go,” the Coach said.

On matchday three of the NPFL, Sunshine Stars forced the Flying Antelopes to a 1-1 draw at the Awka City Stadium on Sunday.
