Former Nigerian winger, Tijani Babangida has moved to calm fears over the Super Eagles potentially drawing difficult opponents in the Africa Cup of Nations in January.

The Super Eagles are in Pot 2 ahead of the draws for AFCON 2024, signifying that they could be drawn against any of Cote d’Ivoire, Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, and Egypt in the group stage of the tournament.

However, Tijani Babangida believes the team has enough quality to face any team.

“Not forgetting that we are Nigerians and of course in such a tournament or such a competition we always want to challenge,” the former player told FL.

“It’s a Nations Cup and of course you have to meet all the top teams before you qualify, but some people are thinking beating them in the early stage is not good.

“To me I believe that with the team that we have now, I think we are good to go. We don’t have to be scared of anything.”

Cup of Nations Draw Pots:

Pot 3: South Africa, Cape Verde, Guinea, Zambia, Equatorial Guinea, Mauritania.
