Nigeria’s WNT head Coach Randy Waldrum will be spoilt for choice in the the Center Forward position in his squad but also admits the he welcomes the situation.

Waldrum that the absence of some of the regulars opened up space in the team, allowing the Coaching crew to assess the players; mostly young talents.
“Over this last year we’ve found some new bloods, with players like Ifeoma, Esther unfortunately is injured and won’t be participating,” the Super Falcons Coach told NFF TV.
“But young players like Vivian that we brought into the team is playing extremely well, so we feel like we’ve got a lot of good options.
“Gift Monday is superb in the professional league here, this past season and is playing well as a young player.”
Ahead of Nigeria’s opening game at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, the Coach expressed delight in the availability of Forward Asisat Oshoala.
Waldrum also discussed the variety of attacking options the current personnel in the squad offer.
“Having Asisat back healthy has been a big plus, I’m excited about the young player Macleans (Chinonyerem) who is playing in Poland right now.
“So, I think we’ve got a lot of attacking options to choose from and we have a lot of players that can interchange, Rasheedat (Ajibade) for example has been playing in midfield for us but we can play her upfront if we need.
“Toni Payne is the same, so, I think we’ve got a really good attacking qualities within our team so I’d say overall I’m really happy with that.”
