Nigeria’s Under 20 women team, the Falconets, on Wednesday advanced to the 2019 African Games women’s Football semi-finals after forcing Cameroon to a 1-1 draw in their second group B match at Stade des Chenes in Morocco.

The Christopher Danjuma-led side are now on 4 points in Group B and will next play Zambia in their last group stage match on Saturday.

Nigeria’s women’s Football team won gold at the 8th All-Africa Games which Nigeria hosted in 2003.

The feat was repeated in Algiers four years later. But the girls failed to qualify for the 10th All-Africa Games in Maputo in 2011 before finishing in fourth place in Brazzaville, Congo four years ago.

A victory in the semi-finals means the Falconets are at least sure of a silver medal.
