Akwa United have unveiled five new signings ahead of the resumption of the 2016/17 NPFL season.
Among the players presented to the media on Wednesday include former U20 National team goalie and Sunshine Stars shot stopper, Ojo Olorunleke.
The 22-year-old was assigned jersey number 30 and is signed till the end of the season.
The other players include Edem Akakatang, who joined from from Akwa Starlets for the rest of the season. Akakatang will wear jersey number 27.
Gabriel Okechukwu was signed from FC Karpaty of Ukraine for the rest of the season. He has been assigned Jersey number 25.
Also, Harmony Ikande joined the Promise Keepers from Aris Limassol of Cyprus and will play till the end of the season with Jersey number 19.
Midfielder Christopher Lolo signed from Katsina United for the remaining part of the current season. He will wear jersey number 32.
Coach, Abdul Maikaba is hoping to reinforce as the club sets a new objective of securing the league title per Club Chairman, Paul Bassey.
The club are currently in 5th position on the table, with just six points separating them from league leaders, Plateau United.
The ceremony which was held inside the club’s ground at the Akwa Ibom International Stadium saw the five players don the team’s home jersey, behind a club banner and the Stadium stands in the backdrop.
They also posed for Pictures with the Coach and Club chairman.
